Attempted murder at Dysart

A 36-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder, in relation to the alleged stabbing of a teenage girl at Dysart yesterday afternoon (July 18).

It will be alleged at approximately 4.15pm, a 17-year-old girl was stabbed with a knife several times at a Beardmore Crescent address.

The teenager remains in a critical but stable condition at Mackay Base Hospital.

Detectives attended the Dysart residence and located a 36-year-old local woman.

She was transported with minor injuries to Dysart Hospital for assessment, where it is further alleged she assaulted a police officer.

It will be alleged the teenager and woman are known to each other.

The 36-year-old has subsequently been charged with attempted murder (domestic violence), common assault and serious assault police officer.

At this stage, she is expected to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court today (July 19).
