Attempted Murder Charge At Aldershot

Maryborough Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged a 43-year-old man following an alleged incident at Aldershot, north of Maryborough, on 9 January.

Police and emergency services were called to an Aldershot Street address around 10.40pm following reports a 28-year-old woman had allegedly sustained numerous stab wounds to her upper torso.

The woman was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital in a critical condition.

Police attended the address and arrested a 43-year-old Aldershot man who is known to the woman.

He has been charged with one count each of attempted murder domestic violence offence and contravention of domestic violence order.

He is expected to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday 12 January.
