Attempted murder charge at Margate

Detectives have charged a man with attempted murder following investigations into a violent altercation at Margate on Tuesday night, October 26.

About 8.20pm, an argument occurred between a small group of people, all known to each other, at an address in Margate.

Police will allege that a man followed another man to a nearby address on Carnarvon Court before stabbing him multiple times in the abdomen, chest and left forearm.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 30-year-old Rothwell man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Following extensive investigations lead by detectives from Redcliffe Criminal Investigation Branch, a 42-year-old North Booval man has been charged with one count of attempted murder.

He was denied police bail and is due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today (October 28).
