Attempted robberies, Carrara and Broadbeach Waters

Police are investigating the armed robbery of two men in separate suburbs of the Gold Coast last night, Queensland Police say.

At around 9.30pm a man on Hoy Street, Carrara was approached by two other men. One of the offenders produced a knife and the other punched him in the neck causing swelling.

His wallet and phone were stolen before the two men fled the scene.

At around 10.20pm, a man on Savoy Drive, Broadbeach Waters was approached by two men. One man, who was armed with a knife demanded the man’s wallet, car keys and mobile phone.

The pair rummaged through the man’s car before leaving the scene on foot.

Investigations into the two incidents are ongoing.
