Attempted robbery at Wayville, South Australia

Detectives are investigating after a woman produced a firearm and attempted to rob another woman at Wayville late yesterday afternoon.

At 5.10pm on Tuesday 17 May, a victim was approached by a woman whilst she was waiting at bus stop 2 on the western side of Goodwood Road at Wayville. The offender allegedly demanded the victim had over her purse and produced a firearm.

The 47-year-old victim indicated she had no money and the offender attempted to snatch her handbag. The victim has then grabbed the firearm and a struggle ensued. The victim hit the offender with her bag and she fell to the ground. The offender was last seen running north towards Greenhill Road.

The female is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 40 years of age, medium build, with shoulder length dark coloured wavy hair. She was wearing a white hooded jumper and dark coloured pants. The firearm was described by the victim as being a black handgun.
