Police have charged a man after he allegedly tried to steal a woman’s bag on Wednesday night at Rosslea, Queensland Police say.
It will be alleged around 9.15pm the woman was walking along Bowen Road when a man grabbed her in a bear hug. The 19-year-old woman has flipped the man onto the ground and he has grabbed her hair and punched her in the face. She has then punched the man several times to get free and ran across the road for assistance. The man has run from the scene.
A 37-year-old Rosslea man has been charged with one count of attempted robbery with violence.
He is to appear at the Townsville Magistrates Court this morning, November 10.
