Detectives investigating the attempted robbery of a petrol station at Springfield on Wednesday night, August 31, have released footage of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations, Queensland Police say.
Shortly after 11pm a man entered the Main Street business and approached the counter. The man then grabbed the arm a 41-year-old male attendant and demanded cash.
The employee quickly closed the cash register draw and the man fled empty handed, except for grabbing some items from a shelf next to the door.
The man – who is described as African in appearance and around 170cms tall – was last seen heading into nearby parkland.
No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
