Australia Day Award nominations now open

It's time to acknowledge the local heroes who make Campbelltown a wonderful community by nominating them for an Australia Day Award.

The awards recognise people and organisations who have made a positive contribution to the community throughout the year.

Mayor George Brticevic encouraged people to nominate those in the community whose work usually went unnoticed by others.

"The Australia Day Awards are an opportunity to recognise the spirit of selflessness and generosity that exists in Campbelltown," Cr Brticevic said.

"Over these past few months we've seen so many people and organisations in our community step up to help others during what has been a difficult time for everybody," he said.

"There are so many amazing unsung heroes out there doing things, big and small, that have a positive impact on those around them so whether it's a friend, neighbour, family member or local business that you know, be sure to nominate them for an Australia Day Award."

Award categories include:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Sportsperson of the Year (all ages)
  • Community Group Initative of the Year
  • Diversity and Inclusion Award
  • Environmental Citizen of the Year Award
