The Western Sydney Business Chamber says the 55-storey commercial building is the final piece of the puzzle of the $3.2 billion Parramatta Square development.
David Borger, Executive Director of the Western Sydney Business Chamber, said, "This will be the biggest office tower in Australia located in the heart of the Parramatta CBD.
"It is fantastic to see the NSW Government commit to bringing more than 4200 government workers to Parramatta housed in Walker Corporation's office tower.
"The two towers at 6 and 8 Parramatta Square will provide up to 125,000 square metres of space with a value of $1.7 billion," he said.
"This 25-year-vision is finally coming to light and is a vote of confidence for Parramatta and its role as a significant employment and business centre.
"This is an exciting time for Parramatta with the CBD transforming into a bustling, modern city centre.
"A new wave of professional service firms are investing in Western Sydney and coupled with the public sector moving to the region as well, the community will be able to access jobs close to home.
"Western Sydney residents won't be forced to travel hours each day to get to and from work with Parramatta becoming a leading commercial precinct in a matter of years," Mr Borger said.
"Once Parramatta Square is complete, the CBD of Parramatta will be an investment and decision-making hub and that's where the heavyweight employers and organisations will want to be located.
"All this commercial activity will change the retail landscape of the city and will come with a number of benefits, including a number of new bars, cafes and restaurants expected to set up shop to cater for the corporate and office workers," Mr Borger said.
