Australia's largest operating steam engine comes to Gosford for ONE Weekend ONLY

AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST OPERATING STEAM LOCOMOTIVE COMES TO THE CENTRAL COAST FOR ONE WEEKEND ONLY

SATURDAY 29 & SUNDAY 30 JUNE 2019

Rail heritage comes to life in Gosford as Beyer-Garratt 6029, Australia's largest operating steam locomotive, hits the tracks for two days of historic steam train rides.

Passengers will enjoy a 1-hour, non-stop trip from Gosford Station to Hawkesbury River and return behind 'the Garratt', taking in the Brisbane Waters and historic Hawkesbury River Bridge along the way.

"Gosford Steam Weekend is a fantastic opportunity for families and heritage enthusiasts to take a ride back in time and connect with our state's rich transport history," said Andrew Moritz, CEO, Transport Heritage NSW.

Locomotive 6029 is back in service following recent mechanical and boiler repairs, as well as a fresh paint job with the return of its original red lining.

Gosford Steam Weekend operates on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June 2019.
