Australian flag to fly at half-mast

The Australian National flags at Coburg Civic Centre and Brunswick Town Hall will fly at half-mast on Friday 10 February during the State Memorial Service for the Honourable Andrew Sharp Peacock AC.

The State Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Friday 10 February at St Paul's Cathedral in Melbourne.

Mr Peacock was elected in 1966 to the House of Representatives as the member for Kooyong. He served as:

  • the Minister for the Army from 1969 to 1972
  • the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister from 1969 to 1971
  • the Minister Assisting the Treasurer from 1971 to 1972
  • the Minister for External Territories in 1972
  • the Minister for Environment in 1975
  • the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1975 to 1980
  • Cabinet Minister from 1975 to 1981
  • the Minister for Industrial Relations from 1980 to 1981
  • the Minister for Industry and Commerce from 1982 to 1983

Mr Peacock was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia in 1997 for his service to the Australia Parliament, to politics, and for the formulation and implementation of defence and foreign policy.
