Today I will travel to Jakarta to meet Indonesia's newly appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Arrmanatha Nasir.
There is no more important partner for Australia than Indonesia.
The Jakarta Treaty, signed earlier this year by Prime Minister Albanese and President Prabowo, reflects the depth of trust and friendship between our countries and our shared commitment to work together for the peace, stability and prosperity of our region.
I look forward to discussing with Minister Nasir how we continue to implement the Treaty and bring its spirit of trust and partnership to every aspect of our relationship.
During my visit, I will meet with Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, His Excellency Sugiono, to discuss Australia's support for Indonesia's economic development priorities.
I will also launch the next ten-year phase of the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Economic Development (Prospera), alongside Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara.
For more than three decades, Australia and Indonesia have worked together to support Indonesia's economic development and the next phase of Prospera reflects our commitment to continue that work.
Our relationship is built on trust, respect and partnership. We will keep building on those foundations to strengthen our cooperation and shape our shared future together.
