Book lovers are invited to join acclaimed author Geoff Parkes for a special In Conversation event at Barham, where he will discuss his latest novel, The First Law of the Bush.
Described as clever, atmospheric and chilling, The First Law of the Bush will keep readers guessing right until the very end. The free author talk will offer insight into Parkes' writing process, themes and characters, followed by the opportunity to purchase books on the day.
The event will be held on Wednesday 25 February, starting at 11am, at the Barham Riverside Reception Centre.
Murray River Council Mayor, Cr John Harvie said the event was a great opportunity for the community to engage with contemporary Australian writing.
"Events like this encourage a love of reading while bringing people together."
"We're pleased to welcome Geoff Parkes to Barham as part of our library services and invite locals to come along and be part of the conversation."
Geoff Parkes was born and raised in rural New Zealand and now lives in Melbourne. For the past twelve years, he has written a weekly opinion column for The Roar, Australia's leading online sports website. He is the author of When the Deep, Dark Bush Swallows You Whole and The First Law of the Bush, both featuring emerging lawyer Ryan Bradley.
This event is proudly presented by Barham Library and is free to attend. Bookings essential.
