International best-selling and award-winning Australian author Tea Cooper will discuss her highly anticipated new novel The Tangled Web between 10.30am and 11.30am on Saturday 1 November at Cessnock Library.
Set in Maitland in 1892, The Tangled Web is a historical mystery full of deception, blood, and twists. The story plunges readers into the world of Viola Oswald, who suspects her prestigious surgeon stepfather, Elias Sinclair, of exploiting her late brother Sebastian's illness for his own gain. Viola embarks on a desperate quest in search of proof, until she discovers a dark truth.
Cooper is celebrated for her immersive historical fiction, with several titles already to her name including The Cartographer's Secret – for which she won the prestigious Daphne du Maurier Award.
Acting Library Services Co-ordinator Amanda O'Hearn said the event would be a special chance for readers to engage with a beloved storyteller, hear about her creative process, and have books signed.
"We are absolutely delighted to welcome an author of Tea Cooper's calibre to Cessnock Library," said Ms O'Hearn.
"Her historical mysteries are renowned for their intricate plots and compelling characters, and The Tangled Web sounds like it will be another masterful read."
