The Allan Labor Government is celebrating the multicultural champions who make Victoria a fairer, stronger and better state.
Minister for Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria Ingrid Stitt today announced nominations for the Victorian Multicultural Commission's 2026 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence are now open.
The annual awards celebrate and recognise outstanding individuals and organisations who are making significant contributions to strengthening multiculturalism in Victoria.
Now in its 25th year, the awards include 13 categories, such as Arts and Culture, Business and Employment, the Multicultural Honour Roll and the Premier's Award for Intercultural Connection.
Among last year's recipients were:
- Dellaram Vreeland, Media Award - for her work in print and digital media
- Greater Shepparton City Council, Local Government Award - for partnering with multicultural organisations to build community resilience
- Yuwaluxshayan Kannan, Refugee Young Leader Award - for championing refugee youth empowerment through school leadership, mentoring and advocacy
- COOK4CALD, Youth Leadership Award - for their work addressing food insecurity in the south eastern suburbs through culturally inclusive meal programs.
Nominations for the awards will close at 11:59pm on 13 July 2026.
Awards winners and inductees will be celebrated at a ceremony at Government House in October.
