Backstage Pass to creative careers in Playford
Get involved in hands-on workshops, industry panels, networking opportunities and live music performances at this month's creative industries job expo!

Young people with dreams of working in music, performance or events are invited to connect with industry insiders at Backstage Pass: Live Events Careers Unplugged, a free career expo hosted by the City of Playford's Northern Sound System (NSS) in Elizabeth.

Held on Friday 11 July from 1pm to 4pm, the expo will deliver hands-on workshops, industry panels, networking opportunities and live music performances in the adjacent skate park as part of the Live at the Launch Pad series.

The event is set to showcase the many career pathways available in South Australia's growing live events industry and aims to support young people, students and creatives in exploring practical routes to employment, study and professional development.

Mayor Glenn Docherty said the expo reflects Council's ongoing commitment to building strong local pathways into creative careers.

"This initiative shows just how crucial events like this are in getting local people into local jobs and industries, while also strengthening our city's creative and economic future," Mayor Docherty said.

"Playford has a proud history of producing high achievers in the creative industries both here and on the world stage. We know the talent is here, but a common challenge is knowing how to turn that gift into a career."

"Backstage Pass brings together key industry contacts, employers and educators in one place. Whether you're a student exploring options, a job seeker looking for a new path, or a young artist seeking professional advice - this event is for you."

The event will feature:

  • Industry showcases from South Australian live events and music companies
  • Interactive experiences with professional-grade sound, lighting and staging equipment
  • Workshops and panel discussions with industry experts
  • Networking opportunities with employers, creatives and mentors
  • Education stalls from TAFE SA, SAE, Flinders University and Adelaide University
  • Live at the Launch Pad music performances, highlighting emerging local artists

The expo is suited to high school and tertiary students, NSS program participants and anyone considering a new career in the creative industries.
