The prestigious Bald Archy Prize is officially open in Corowa, with an exclusive preview event for the dedicated volunteers kicking off a highly successful opening weekend. Hundreds of art lovers are already attending the exhibition, which is being hosted by Federation Council.

Over 30 dedicated volunteers are assisting with the 2025 Bald Archy Prize in Corowa, ensuring the exhibition runs smoothly and visitors have a memorable experience. The preview event provided a special opportunity for Council to express its gratitude for their hard work.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook thanked the volunteers for their invaluable contribution.

"The success of an event of this scale is entirely dependent on the passion and commitment of our community," she said.

"Council is so fortunate to have over 30 incredible volunteers supporting the Bald Archy Prize. On behalf of Council and the community, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for their time and effort. This exhibition would not be possible without them."

The exhibition's opening was made even more special with the attendance of three of the exhibiting finalists: local Corowa artist Michael Mack, as well as John and Jo Skillington from Albury.

Mayor Cook said it is a true honour for Corowa to host the Bald Archy Prize and to be part of the national tour.

"The exhibition brings a unique blend of humour, talent, and satire that captivates art lovers from across the region and beyond," she said.

"We encourage everyone to come and see the incredible work of these artists and support our vibrant cultural community."

The Bald Archy Prize will be on display daily from Saturday 16th August until Sunday 14th September, 2025. Visitors can bring the whole family to see 38 playful and entertaining artworks of familiar personalities. Other portrait subjects that will be on display include Raygun, Hugh Jackman, Robert Irwin, Senator Lidia Thorpe, Gina Rinehart and Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia.
