Council will investigate the use of CCTV cameras in Arncliffe following a resolution at the July Council Meeting, supported by a Community Safety Forum for local businesses in August.
Residents and business owners in Arncliffe have expressed concerns regarding incidents of anti-social behaviour around public facilities. These concerns are especially significant given the proximity to schools, the train station, and other frequently used community amenities.
Council's Community Safety Forum in August will bring together local police, Business Chamber South and local businesses to help identify priority areas that would benefit from increased safety measures.
Council currently operates a network of 400 CCTV cameras across Bayside and will explore state and federal funding opportunities to support the rollout of future CCTV infrastructure.
