Queensland produce will be celebrated during a trade mission to Indonesia and Singapore with Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner promoting our premium beef and horticulture products.
Mr Furner said the aim of this trip was to strengthen the trading ties and seek further investment with two of Queensland's biggest trading partners.
"Indonesia is on track to become the world's fifth biggest economy by 2050 and more of their citizens are demanding high-end premium beef products," he said.
"Last financial year we exported $380.5 million of agricultural products, including $110 million worth of boxed beef.
"The Queensland Government is keen to support our producers, processors, lot feeders and their partners in the supply chain to boost our exports to Indonesia and attract more investment in the industry."
In a further sign of the strengthening ties between Queensland and Indonesia, Mr Furner will officially open Trade and Investment Queensland's new, bigger office in Jakarta.
In Singapore Mr Furner will showcase high-end Queensland products to potential investors and will also promote further investment in the Queensland sugar industry.
"Some of the products we're bringing over are made using sustainable farming practices," he said.
"I want to show investors that our farmers are constantly innovating to produce the cleanest, greenest and tastiest products in the world.
"I look forward to reporting back on the progress we have made and the opportunities for Queensland producers wanting to take their products to the world."
