A Bendigo resident, who describes himself as a "battler," is all set to treat himself and his wife to the holiday of their dreams, all thanks to a whopping $738,000 win in the recent Saturday Lotto draw.
The lucky Victorian was among the seven to secure the division one prize in draw 4405 on Saturday, 7 October 2023. The exact amount he won was $738,668.19.
Reacting to the win, he said, “Unbelievable! Simply unbelievable!” He went on to add that while he had always hoped for a winning call from the lottery officials, he never truly believed it would happen.
The fortunate man has big plans for the windfall.
“My wife and I are retired, and this will undoubtedly change our lives. I can’t wait to get onto booking a holiday for us! We won’t go overseas but we’d love to travel around Australia." He's also looking forward to assisting his children financially, calling it "the best feeling in the world."
The winning ticket that changed his life was bought from City Central Newsagency, located at Shop 1, 5 Queen Street in Bendigo. The newsagency's team expressed their joy at having sold a division one winning ticket and extended their best wishes to the winner.
For those curious about the magic numbers, they were 18, 23, 25, 37, 28, and 35, with the supplementary numbers being 16 and 8.
In draw 4405, there were seven division one winning entries in total. Three of these were from Victoria, three from South Australia, and one from Western Australia.
