Bicycle rider critical after Abbotsford collision

Police and emergency services attended a collision in Abbotsford early this morning (8 March) which has left a man in a critical condition.

It is believed a cyclist fell and became trapped under street sweeper that was driving East on Victoria Street about 12am.

The cyclist, a 30-year-old Hawthorn man, was transported to hospital suffering life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the street sweeper was uninjured and stopped at the scene to assist.

The investigation is ongoing.
