The British High Commission in Maseru is inviting proposals from qualified organisations, institutions, and consortia to deliver innovative projects that preserve cultural heritage and improve accessibility.

The British High Commission in Maseru invites proposals from qualified organisations, institutions, and consortia to implement innovative projects that strengthen cultural heritage preservation and accessibility. This initiative aims to support creative solutions that safeguard historical and cultural resources while promoting inclusive access for future generations of Basotho. The projects are to be carried out in 2025-2026 and completed by 31st March 2026.

Objectives

  • enhance the resilience and sustainability of cultural heritage assets
  • foster innovation in heritage management and knowledge sharing
  • promote collaboration between Basotho and British institutions/ stakeholders

Scope of Work

Proposals should outline strategies and activities that:

  • improve the preservation and accessibility of cultural heritage materials
  • integrate technology and creative approaches to ensure long-term sustainability
  • engage stakeholders in heritage conservation efforts

Eligibility

  • registered not-for-profit organisations or institutions with proven experience in cultural heritage projects
  • proven experience working with relevant UK-based institutions
  • demonstrated capacity to deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets

Submission Requirements

  • technical proposal including activities, outputs and expected outcomes
  • financial proposal with a clear budget breakdown
  • evidence of relevant experience and organisational capacity
