Bike to Work and Shred Fest on Sept. 17

Columbia University Irving Medical Center

CUIMC employees and local community members are invited to join Columbia Public Safety in Haven Plaza on Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Bike to Campus and Shred Fest events. At these annual events, attendees can gather resources for safe city biking, protect their electronic equipment from theft, safely dispose of sensitive papers and hard drives, and recycle old computers. The event will happen rain or shine.

Bike to Work

Cyclists at the event can access:

  • Free bike tune-ups
  • Free bike registration with CU Public Safety and the NYPD. Registered bikes are given a unique identification number that helps recovery in case of theft.
  • Discounted bike locks and accessories. Public Safety representatives will demonstrate proper locking techniques.
