Blinken's Dialogue with Qatari PM, Foreign Affairs Minister Al Thani 28 November

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The Secretary thanked the Prime Minister for Qatar's partnership and critical efforts to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas. Secretary Blinken notably welcomed the safe recovery of four-year-old American Abigail Idan. The Secretary welcomed Prime Minister Al Thani's update that the sides agreed to extend the humanitarian pause in Gaza over the next 48 hours. The two leaders discussed the importance of a sustained surge of additional humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza. Secretary Blinken reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Qatar relationship as well as its importance to ensuring regional security and stability.
