Blow over in Baxter

A man is without his van after it was impounded in Baxter on Saturday night.

Police from Hastings were responding to reports of an erratic driver when they intercepted the van on Baxter Tooradin Road about 9.40pm.

When approaching the vehicle, the officers noticed a lot of damage to the front of the van.

Enquiries soon revealed the van had struck a parked car about an hour earlier in Carrum Downs.

The 53-year-old man was conveyed to Frankston Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.267.

His vehicle impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1280.00 and his licence was immediately suspended for a minimum of 12 months.

The Clyde North man will be charged on summons.
