Bob Brown Foundation causing distress to Tasmanian workers and their families

Guy Barnett,Minister for Resources

It is not surprising but extremely disappointing that the Bob Brown Foundation is considering an appeal to the Federal Courts decision to uphold Tasmania's Regional Forest Agreement.

I have been overwhelmed with positive feedback from forest industry workers today who are pleased with the Federal Court decision and know that our government will not let them down. Some have been distressed by the BBF and its ongoing protests.

The Federal Court was clear and it's time for the Bob Brown Foundation to respect the umpire's decision.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has always stated that we have full confidence in our Regional Forest Agreement and our sustainable forest management practices. We will fight to protect Tasmanian businesses, jobs and communities.
