Body identified in Buronga

The body of a woman who was found on the banks of the Murray River has been formally identified, NSW Police say.

About 3.30pm on Tuesday 13 December 2016, emergency services were called to the Murray River, Buronga, east of Dareton, following reports a body had been located.

A crime scene was established and officers attached to Barrier Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, the 59-year-old woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious; however investigations surrounding the circumstances leading to her death will continue.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
