Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after the body of a man was located in Braeside this morning, Victoria Police say.
A 45-year-old man presented himself to Mordialloc Police Station early this morning and police subsequently conducted checks at a factory Governor Road.
A body was located shortly before 10am.
The man is now in custody and the parties are believed to be known to each other.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the deceased man and are making enquiries as to whether he is a former police officer.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have information about this incident or witnessed any unusual activity in the area.
