Body of man found in waters off Kendalls Beach in Kiama

A man was pulled from the water at the southern end of Kendalls Beach, Kiama, this afternoon and despite the efforts of emergency services and members of the public he was unable to be revived, NSW Police say.

Officers were called to the beach on the states South Coast about 2.30pm (Friday 13 July 2018) following reports of a body floating in the water.

Officers from the Marine Area Command responded, together with officers from Lake Illawarra Police District, Surf Life Saving NSW, and a NSW Ambulance helicopter that winched the man from the water and commenced CPR.

Sadly, the man was unable to be revived.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

There are no suspicious circumstances.
