Body of man missing from Lane Cove located

A body believed to be that of a man missing from Lane Cove has been located following a search in Sydney's north today.

The 72-year-old man was last seen at his home on Allison Avenue, Lane Cove, about 10.30am (Monday 11 May 2020).

He was reported missing to officers from North Shore Police Area Command, who conducted an extensive search for the man with the assistance of PolAir, the Dog Unit and the SES.

About 6pm today, a man's body was found in an industrial area in Artarmon. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the missing man.

Initial inquiries suggest his death is not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
