Police divers have recovered the body of man after his SUV was found submerged in a lake in the state's Snowy Mountains region.
Officers from Monaro Police District have been told four friends had been camping beside Lake Eucumbene at the weekend when one of the men, aged 75, drove his SUV to the toilet block about 8.30pm yesterday (Sunday 27 September 2020).
Police were alerted when the man failed to return to the campsite and a search was initiated; about 11pm the vehicle was found submerged in Lake Eucumbene.
Police divers were called to assist, and the body of the man was recovered just after 12.30pm today (Monday 28 September 2020).
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
