The body of a missing swimmer from Sydney's east has been located.
About 11am last Monday (25 May 2026), emergency services were called to Little Bay Beach, Little Bay, following reports a 30-year-old man was seen in difficulty in the water about 100m offshore.
Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command, along with Marine Area Command, PolAir, Marine Rescue NSW, Surf Life Saving NSW and Westpac Rescue Helicopter, commenced a search to locate the swimmer.
The search was formally suspended the following day (Tuesday 26 May 2026).
Shortly before 8am today (Sunday 31 May 2026), the crew of a fishing vessel about two nautical miles east of Little Bay Beach contacted emergency services after sighting a body in the water.
Officers from the Marine Area Command attended the scene where a recovery operation was conducted.
Whilst yet to be formally identified the body is believed to be that of the 30-year-old man.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
