Body of missing swimmer recovered - south

Police have recovered the body of a man who went missing while swimming in the Georges River in Sydney's south-west earlier today.

Emergency services were called to the Kentlyn Basin in the Keith Longhurst Reserve, near Campbelltown, about 3.45pm (Sunday 4 February 2024), after a swimmer failed to surface.

A search was initiated involving local police, SES members and officers attached to the Police Dive Unit.

Police divers found the man's body shortly before 7pm.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
