Body recovered in search for man missing from Blue Mountains

A body has been recovered by police searching for a man missing from the Blue Mountains.

The 75-year-old man was last seen about 9am last Saturday (23 May 2020) at Evans Lookout, Blackheath.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified and large-scale search for the man commenced the following day (Sunday 24 May 2020).

About 1.30pm yesterday (Saturday 30 May 2020), PolAir located the body of a man on a cliff ledge in bushland north of Evans Lookout.

A police operation was conducted to recover the body today (Sunday 31 May 2020).

The body is yet to be formally identified, however, it is believed to be that of the missing man.

Initial inquiries suggest his death is not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
