Bonza win win for Territory

NT Government

The first Bonza flight direct from the Sunshine Coast touched down in Darwin last night, marking the commencement of three new Bonza routes to the Territory.

The Territory Labor Government's Territory Aviation Attraction Scheme has been instrumental in securing Bonza's new routes including Sunshine Coast to Darwin, Gold Coast to Darwin and Melbourne to Alice Springs.

Boosting commercial aviation services to and from the Territory is a priority of the Territory Labor Government and the new Bonza routes will make it more affordable for tourists to visit the NT and grow visitor economies in the Top End and Central Australia.

Territorians will have access to more affordable flights and more flights to the Territory creates more jobs, increases visitor numbers and improves consumer choice and airfare competition.

Developing ongoing aviation access to and within the Territory is one of the six key priorities in the NT's Tourism Industry Strategy 2030.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Joel Bowden:

"A very special welcome to all the passengers arriving in Darwin on the first Bonza flight to the Top End, now is a great time to experience all the Territory has to offer.

"The arrival of Bonza is fantastic for the Territory's tourism and hospitality industry as well as a win win for Territorians.

"We're thrilled to see Bonza land in the Northern Territory this week. These new Bonza routes from the Sunshine Coast to Darwin, Gold Coast to Darwin and Melbourne to Alice Springs will not only boost visitor numbers as we head towards our peak tourism season, but also give Territorians more choice and connectivity."
