Swan Hill Rural City Council is proud to invite the community to the launch of Goodbye Old Goodnight, a heartfelt new book chronicling the rich history of the Lockhart family and their homestead on the banks of the Murray River.

The book, written by Tony Owen and inspired by the dedication of Ian and Lois Lockhart to preserve their family's legacy, captures the stories of three generations who lived in the iconic 'Old Goodnight' homestead.

The launch event will be held at the Swan Hill Library on Friday, 20 June at 2:30pm and will feature readings of written and recorded stories collected over the years. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Ian and Lois Lockhart, who will be available for book signings during the afternoon tea following the launch.

Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said the event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate local history and storytelling.

"This book is a beautiful tribute to a family's connection to place and memory. We're thrilled to host this launch and provide a space where our community can come together to honour and share in this local story," Ms Cullinan said.

Copies of Goodbye Old Goodnight will be available for purchase at the event for $20 (cash only).
