Bookings for Wingecarribee Shire Council’s 2022 Seniors Festival activities are set to open at 9 am Friday 4 March 2022.
Council’s Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing, Ms Carmel Foster urged prospective attendees to view the program ahead of the booking opening.
“With over 60 events planned for this year’s festival, we’re confident we’ve got something to please everyone,” she said.
Official events begin on Friday 25 March with the Making new Connections workshop at Robertson Community Technology Centre. The festival will close on Sunday 3 April with the Southern Highlands Concert Band playing at Mittagong RSL Club.
“A highlight of this year’s festival is an Order and Law Southern Highlands Information day at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre on Friday 1 April,” said Ms Foster.
“Participants can register for a particular session that interests them or join us for the full day.
“We’ll have guest speakers from the Hume Police District, Palmer Legal and End of Life Angel and dedicated question and answer sessions.
“We recommend that anyone thinking of joining us, have a look at the program beforehand to see what events they may be interested in attending and book from Friday to secure their place.
“The key message is to get in early to avoid disappointment.”
Returning for this year is the option of online bookings through Council’s website.
“We know most older people are confident computer users and having all the events online allows them to browse events and activities at a time that’s convenient for them,” Ms Foster said. “However, we’re still more than happy to take bookings in person or over the phone.”
With the theme of this year’s Seniors Festival being ‘Reconnect’, the aim of this year’s program is to promote reconnection within our community.
Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Seniors Festival is presented in conjunction with community supporters and the NSW Government.
