Boost for regional artists during lockdown

Regional artists and arts organisations will be able to access new funding through a targeted Regional Arts Fund support package.

The $10 million measure will provide crisis relief to organisations, artists and arts workers in regional communities that have been severely affected by the closure of arts venues and restrictions on tourism.

This support from the Australian Government will allow Regional Arts Australia to support individuals and small-to-medium organisations to be adaptable and productive throughout this difficult period, and enable regional and remote artists to develop new ways of working.

Regional Arts Australia is an established not-for-profit body with an in-depth understanding of the challenges that regional organisations face as a central point for communities, and their artistic and cultural identity.

The relief package complements existing whole-of-economy support and assistance measures already in place and assisting the arts sector.
