A Draft Community Engagement Policy, which sets out how Council will provide more opportunities for residents to have their say on community projects and plans, is now on public exhibition.
The policy outlines how Council will promote community participation in its decision-making.
Administrator Peita Duncan said Council wants to hear the views of people living and working in the City of Whittlesea.
"Community engagement certainly leads to better outcomes and will improve the relationship between community and Council by building greater trust," Ms Duncan said.
"We will be implementing a number of engagement tools and methods to support our community in having their voices heard and encourage people living in our City to seek out opportunities that will help us make informed decisions."
The draft Community Engagement Policy aligns with Council's obligations under the Local Government Act 2020.
