Boy in hospital after pedestrian incident, NSW

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian incident in Sydney’s south-west this morning, NSW Police say.

About 1.30am today, a 17-year-old girl was driving a Suzuki Swift in a car park of a shopping centre in Mt Annan, when the driver began speaking to a group of males in the car park.

One of the males, a 17-year-old, jumped on the bonnet of the vehicle.

The vehicle then drive forward a short distance before braking, causing the boy to fall to the ground.

The boy received serious head injuries, and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.

The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The female driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Police from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and conducted inquiries.
