Brazen bearded bottle shop bandit

Police are appealing for public assistance following a series of thefts from a Werribee liquor store across April and May, Victoria Police say.

It is believed the same man attended the Synnot Street store on five occasions, including:

-26 April at 11.35am;

-27 April at 12.45pm;

-30 April at 9.35am;

-30 April at 2.30pm; and

-9 May at 2.50pm

Across the multiple occasions, the man stole a large amount of alcohol, namely spirits, valued at more than $1500.

Police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is described as about 183cm tall and unshaven with a heavy build.

Police believe three other people, possibly a second man and two women, accompanied the man into the store at separate times.

Anyone who recognises the group or who may have information on the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
