Break And Enter And Evade Offences At Plainland

Police have charged a 23-year-old man with multiple offences following the break and enter of a supermarket in Plainland on 30 September.

Around 3.30am, it is alleged the man used a hammer to smash the front doors and forcing entry into the store on Gerhke Road.

Once inside it is alleged the man broke into a number of cabinets stealing a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco before leaving the scene in a stolen 2011 Hyundai ix35.

Around 5am, police allegedly observed the man driving the stolen vehicle along Gerhke Road before turning onto the eastbound lanes of the Warrego Highway in the opposite direction.

It is alleged the vehicle then turned around and continued to travel east along the highway evading police.

Around 2.30pm police are alleged to have located the stolen vehicle parked at a Perth Street property in South Toowoomba.

A subsequent search of the property located the man inside where he was taken into custody.

He has been charged with 11 offences including two counts of stealing and wilful damage and one count each of enter premises and commit, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evade police, driving without a licence, possessing dangerous drugs and offence to buy or possess S4or S8 medicines.

He is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
