Break and enter charges in Nambour, QLD

Police have charged a man following a break and enter that occurred at a restaurant in Nambour earlier this morning, Queensland Police say.

Shortly after midnight, officers were called to a restaurant on Anne Street after a man allegedly smashed a window and stole two bottles of water from the business.

It is further alleged that another man approached the man and, when he was confronted, he produced a knife and made threats before fleeing the area on foot.

Police located man nearby and took him into custody.

A 45-year-old man has been charged with one count each of enter premises to commit an indictable offence, possession of a knife and robbery whilst armed.

He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
