Break in and attempt theft at TTP Modbury, SA

Police are currently at the Tea Tree Plaza Shopping Centre investigating an incident overnight, where a person attempted to force open an ATM in the mall, according to SA Police.

Just after 3am, police were called to the ground floor of the shopping centre on North East Road, after reports of a motorcyclist had forced entry into the mall.

The motorcyclist wearing all black clothing riding a small scooter, attempted to force open the ATM with a crowbar, and then poured a substance into the ATM causing a small explosion.

The would-be thief was unsuccessful in accessing any money from the ATM and has left on the scooter.

Police Crime Scene examiners are attending shopping centre to examine the ATM.

Holden Hill Police are investigation, anyone with information on the incident or the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
