Breaking ground on M1 works Pimpama

Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

Work has begun today on a major upgrade of the Exit 49 (Pimpama) Interchange to improve safety and bust congestion on the M1.

A new bridge over the motorway, additional traffic lanes, on and off-ramp upgrades and new signalised intersections to replace roundabouts will keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.

The $110.768 million project is funded 50:50 between the Australian and Queensland governments, including a developer contribution of $305,000.

The project is expected to be complete in early 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting.
