Brenton Ponza: Embracing Inclusion And Community

At 25, Brenton Ponza has achieved so much, demonstrating leadership, advocacy, and a strong commitment to his local Boroondara community.

Some of his incredible achievements include:

  • 2023 Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East Club Award - Robbie Wright Award issued by Disability Sports and Recreation (Victoria)
  • 2023 Boroondara Youth of the Year issued by City of Boroondara
  • 2024 Boroondara Citizen of the Year issued by City of Boroondara
  • 2024 Person with a Lived Experience - Outstanding Contribution Award awarded by Australasian Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine
  • 2025 Volunteer Impact Award - State Awards issued by the Victoria Government

Through various roles such as research advisor, communication advocate, athlete, coach​ and volunteer, Brenton exemplifies what inclusion and participation look like in everyday life.
