Brewarrina escapees arrested in Queensland

Three men, who escaped from a correctional facility near Brewarrina, have been arrested in Queensland, NSW Police say.

The men – two 20-year-olds and a 22-year-old – allegedly escaped from a minimum security correctional centre south of Brewarrina, about 2.40am on Saturday 13 August 2016.

Following a wide scale search, about 11pm yesterday today, Queensland Police were patrolling Callandoon Street, Goondiwindi, when they saw the men.

The trio were arrested without incident and taken to Goondiwindi Police Station before being taken to Warwick Watchhouse.

They will be extradited to New South Wales by officers from Darling River Local Area Command where charges will be laid.
