Bridgewater man charged with firearms offences, burglary

A 25-year-old Bridgewater man has been charged with multiple firearms-related offences, burglary, motor vehicle stealing and breaches of bail after a targeted search by police.

Police searched a private residence at Bridgewater on Thursday in relation to an investigation into recent motor vehicle stealings.

During the search, police located and seized a stolen car, and a stolen motorcycle linked to burglaries at Bridgewater and Sandy Bay earlier this month, as well as a large quantity of tools believed to have been stolen during burglaries over the past week.

The man has been detained to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.
