Broad Consultation To Promote Gender Equality At Work In Portugal

The interviews contributed to mapping institutional roles and expectations from key informants, with a particular focus on assessing the current landscape of legislation and policies related to gender equality in the workplace. They also explored family-friendly measures and work-life balance policies by gathering and reviewing relevant legal frameworks, policy and regulatory documents, existing evaluations, research studies, and data on key indicators. These indicators include the gender pay gap, gender-based occupational and sectoral segregation, women's representation and leadership, gender-based discrimination in access to and career progression, time use, and other relevant dimensions.

The organizations consulted were invited to reflect on their missions and priorities/challenges within a 5 to 10-year time horizon to promote gender equality in the labour market in Portugal.

The insights gathered from these interviews will inform the as-is analysis on the state of gender equality in the labour market in Portugal and lay the foundations for the development of policy recommendations towards a more inclusive world of work.
