Brothers Charged for Unlawful Firearms by Raptor Squad

Raptor Squad have charged two Brothers for Life gang members with alleged firearm offences following an investigation in Sydney's west.

On Thursday 27 November 2025, officers attached to Liverpool Police Area Command Highway Patrol were patrolling on Hoxton Park Road in Cartwright, when they stopped a Toyota Hilux.

Police searched the vehicle and inside allegedly located a firearm, hammer, knife and drugs.

A 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with four counts of possess prohibited drug, possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm, two counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, custody of knife in public place, two counts of possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.

He was refused bail and faced Liverpool Local Court on Friday 28 November 2025.

An investigation was undertaken by local police who examined several seized items, including a mobile phone, which allegedly contained images of three men posing with unauthorised firearms.

The matter was referred to the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad for further investigation, where they allegedly recognised the men as members of the Brothers for Life gang.

Following extensive inquiries, about 4.50am today (Tuesday 3 January 2026) officers attached to State Crime Command's Raptor Squad Operational Support Group – executed three search warrants in Westmead, Wentworthville and Cartwright under a firearm prohibition order (FPO).

A 33-year-old man was arrested at Westmead and taken to Granville Police Station. He was charged with possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and acquire pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order.

At Wentworthville, a 52-year-old man was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station. He was charged with possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and acquire pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order.

Both men were refused bail to appear at Parramatta local court today (Tuesday 3 January 2026).

Investigations are ongoing.
